About Our Club

Welcome to the Rotary Club of Sackville.

Our mission, as it’s always been, is to serve our communities through 7 areas of service: peace and conflict prevention/resolution, disease prevention and treatment, water and sanitation, maternal and child health, basic education and literacy, economic and community development and the environment. In addition to our work locally, our club also supports national and international projects such as eliminating Polio, providing disaster relief, partnering with a local NGO to promote better health and living conditions abroad.

You may know of, or even participate in, our major fundraising endeavour, the Sackville Rotary Gold Mine 50/50 draw. This exciting project has enabled us to be even more supportive to organizations, initiatives, and the needs of the region. And, by partnering with various groups and organizations we’re able to extend our ability in terms of volunteer persons, money, knowledge and experience to assist wherever help is needed. We are the sponsor, supporter and partner of the Rotaract Club of Mount Allison University. By working with this vibrant youth organization, and with the local school children, we are able to support and encourage their ideas and initiatives in ways we may not have been able too without them.

You can also see our work out in the community as well. I encourage you to take a stroll around Sackville to see some of the physical projects we have completed. You’ll see the Rotary symbol on wildlife observation towers, an outdoor classroom, all season hydration station, the shelter at the Booster Pump and a walking bridge connecting two parts of the waterfowl park, just to mention a few. Some of the non-physical projects have included supporting food security programs, school learning programs, historical, arts and cultural programs, recreation and health programs and community activities.

It’s all very rewarding.

If you’re interested in becoming a Rotarian, I encourage you to join in on one of our meetings, or feel free to contact any one of us for more information about our club. Now more than ever we need more people who believe in service above self.
