50/50 Draw: Our Rhodes Scholar Rotaractor, Colin, had luck on his side as he drew the Ace of Spades and won the pot of $66. Congrats! Happy Toonies: Dianne is delighted to have their 8-month-old granddaughter visiting but always sad to see her go……George put a song in this writer’s heart by reminding us that today is the first day of the baseball season. Go Smokey! ……. Sue F thoroughly enjoyed last Thursday’s wine and cheese event for the Rotaractors…...Gayle reminds us of the bartending gig at the Rod & Gun Club dinner this Saturday. Committee Reports:
Youth Services: Sue needs volunteer subs for three Thursdays from 1:00 – 2:00 at the high school for the Food for Thought program.
Club Admin: The flags will be moved to the storage unit to be used for special events.
President’s Time: Louise discussed details of the Spring Bash and thanked Re/Max (Gold sponsor) and Guardian (Silver sponsor).

Speaker: Bill introduced Andrew Moreira, from Stillwater, Maine now the Bell Scholarship recipient at Mount Allison studying math and physics. Andrew described the Student Refugee Program at Mount Allison, a chapter of World University Services Canada. SRP combines refugee resettlement with opportunities for higher education. Since 1978, 1800 young refugees have been served through WUSC. The SRP program is funded through a student levy and partnerships with the community and service organizations. George thanked Andrew with a card and pen and the presentation of a book in Andrew’s name to be donated to a local library. The meeting concluded with recitation of the 4-way test.
