Chair: Louise chaired today’s Club Admin meeting and started with a discussion of the crisis in the U.S. relative to the high costs of diabetes treatment supplies. Guests: The club was happy to have Ryan Estabrooks as our guest this morning. Cheque Presentation: On behalf of Dorchester Consolidated School, Ryan Estabrooks happily accepted a Goldmine cheque for $657.00, presented by Lesley. Happy Toonies: Wynn, as he’s often generous to do, emptied his pockets to share his delight in finishing his work today so that he can spend the next month in Florida. He also shared his personal experiences with the increased price of diabetes supplies in Florida compared to at home in New Brunswick…..Josh expressed his delight in the lovely sky on his drive into town this morning and his appreciation of life….Tammy’s daughter is moving in for a few weeks and Tammy’s very proud of her being in the Vet Tech program at Oulton College. Tammy is also looking forward to this weekend’s trip to St. Stephen for Deven’s first provincial basketball tournament…..Diane was very pleased that the TRHS basketball team won the championship and is off to Saint John. Committee Reports: Youth Services: Susan, Edna and Tammy interviewed candidates for Adventures in Citizenship and chose Ainsley Cunningham. Volunteers are needed for the Food for Thought program at TRHS where 10 – 20% of students have no lunch. The time would be from 1:00 – 2:00 and a policy 701 and police check will be required. Food for Thought has been funded by a couple living in Fredericton. Upcoming Meetings: Club Administration – following this meeting. The committee also put out a call for bulletin writers to share the load. Spring Bash: Meeting next Wednesday at 5:15 for the April 27th Spring Bash. Speaker: Our own Trish outlined the activities to date of the Projects Committee and plans for future local and international possibilities for the club to support. The meeting concluded with recitation of the 4-way test. |
