Cheque Presentation: Our donation of $816.00 was accepted by Pat Estabrooks of the Sackville Hospital Foundation. Pat thanked the Club for helping the Foundation to acquire lab equipment for the hospital. 50/50 Draw: The pot stood at $268 this week but will continue to grow next week as Mariah Inglis drew the 6 of hearts in pursuit of the elusive Queen of Spades. 
Happy Toonies:
Louise offered the first happy toonie in appreciation of the Switch-witch who swapped out Lego ™ for the less healthy Hallowe’en candy…..Pam was happy to inform us that this year’s Boston Christmas tree is from Cumberland County…..Susan had seven trick or treaters this year, a record! Dianne reminds us that the Curling Club is open this weekend for the Craft Show and Dessert table.

Goldmine: Dale is spearheading the application process for the Goldmine applications. He’s expecting 24 applications; 12 have been received to date.
Volunteer: Susan is offering a chance for club members to go to Salem and Dorchester schools this coming week to hand out illustrated dictionaries to all grade 3’s. Legacy: Josh updated the meeting on the progress of the narrowing-down of the 8 projects under consideration as a Legacy Project. The Legacy committee will present 4 projects for discussion by the club on November 24th.

Speakers:
Wayne introduced his friends, Phil and Jeanne-Mance McNeil who presented an informative travelogue on the geography, architecture and history of Turkey, accompanied by the wonderful photographs they took on their 2014 trip to Turkey with Walkers World. Istanbul is the 3rd most visited city in the world, after Paris and London. Phil described some of the highlights of their time in Istanbul, as well as the Elara Valley and the Silk Route. Especially interesting were his pictures and commentary on the 10,000 caverns in the Elara valley used as hermitages by priests and monks in the 14th century, as well as the descriptions of the early history of Christianity in Turkey.
Darrell presented The People of the Tantramar to be donated to a local library in honour of Phil’s presentation. The meeting concluded with the recitation of the 4-way test.
