    Louise presented Matthew Blair Estabrooks, Sackville Minor Hockey participant, with a Goldmine donation of $696.00.

50/50 Draw:  Our own gem, Sandy, drew the 10 of diamonds trying for the Queen of Spades to win the pot of $288.  Maybe the pot will top $300 next week!   
Happy TooniesCharlie braved the icy weather to hand out dictionaries at Salem school and was happy to interact with the grade 3 recipients…..Pam announced today’s tree cutting at 10:30 this morning in Oxford to send the annual Christmas tree to Boston…..and she also cheered knowing that the Viola Desmond $10 bill is to be launched on Nov 21st in Winnipeg……Sue F gave a shout out to the Salem dictionary volunteers:  Bill, Charlie, Marita, Gayle, Pat, Louise and two Rotaractors.

Committee Reports:
Club AdministrationDianne reiterated the details of the Christmas Potluck, which will be held at St. Ann’s Hall in Westcock on Dec. 6th at 6:00 p.m.  The club will also be bartending for Ducks Unlimited event on Nov 24th.
FoundationPat P gave many thanks to Pam for her spearheading the movie event Breathe and for the achievement of a whopping donation of $68,000 with matching!!!
Pam described her next brainchild to support the drive to End Polio Now.      Pam, Dale, George and Pat B modelled the T-shirts that can be purchased for the price of your year of birth and worn en masse on our 3 km walk on June 1, 2019.  Let’s get 114 people on our walk to commemorate the anniversary of 114 years of Rotary!
Legacy:  Josh outlined the procedure for selecting a Legacy project this fiscal year.  His committee has researched 8 projects and selected 4 for the club’s consideration.  There will be a Legacy meeting for all members on Saturday, Nov 24th at Sackville United Church at 9:00 a.m. for discussion and selection.  Details of the 4 projects under consideration will be emailed to the club before the meeting.

    President’s TimeLouise informed the club that the Board approved $1500 to go to the three Sackville schools towards their breakfast programs.  The Board also approved the 13 Goldmine Recipients recommended by the Goldmine Selection Committee.  Dale thanked the committee for their contribution of time and consideration: Jamie, Marita, Sue F, Mary, Dale, Bill and Lesley.  Louise expressed appreciation to David, who has spent a considerable amount of time updating the club by-laws.
    Speaker: Lucy MacDonald, Curator of Education and Community Outreach at the Owens Art gallery was welcomed by George Woodburn.  Lucy outlined several of the interactive programs currently embraced by the Sackville community.  Make Something Sundays, for those under 12 and their adult partners, attracts an average of 60 participants per session. 
        The adult program, Maker Maker, is offered 3 evenings/term with artist led workshops to make pocket-sized projects.  Another vital and popular program is the Experiential Learning partnership with Marshview Middle School.
The Owens has a new director, Emily Falvey, and Rachel Thornton will fill the newly created position of Curator of Digital Engagement.
