Makeups – Wynn has attended three South Lake, Florida Rotary meetings Happy Birthday from a distance to John! Morgan had the lucky ticket today in the 50/50 draw. The pot stands at $302.00, and is still growing as she drew the 10 of spades in pursuit of the elusive Queen of Spades. Halfway there, with the right suit, at any rate! Cheque Presentations: Bill presented a cheque for $2,816.00 to Edna Brewster, our very happy Goldmine draw winner. The Dorchester Consolidated School was the recipient of a Goldmine donation of $712.00, presented by Pat B. Happy Toonies: Wynn donated toonies on two fronts – he’s happy to be back in Sackville, and happy that Sharon has informed him that the air conditioning has been repaired in their Florida home……Stacey is looking forward to this Saturday at the Farmer’s Market where she and her son will be selling hot coffee and delicious home-made cookies…..Trish wishes her equal half a very happy birthday…..Pat’s grandchildren Bella and Kit are coming for a sleepover tonight to use their artistic talents to paint Christmas scenes on Pat’s front windows…..Bill McLeish is enjoying his visit to Sackville…..Ove was unsuccessful in his desire for less snow here than in the Laurentians…..Louise is commemorating the three month anniversary since her daughter’s diabetes diagnosis and her great attitude towards it…..traveller Edna thanks Bill for taking care of her house and Gayle for taking care of her Rotary duties while she travelled to Newfoundland. President’s Time: Louise informed the club members of the donations of $1000 to each of the 3 Sackville schools for their breakfast programs and reminded us that the November 29th meeting will be the AGM. Speaker: Pat P led an interactive educational session outlining the history, policy and practices of the Foundation and its impact on improving lives around the world. From its beginning in 1917 – the ”Endowment for Doing Good in the World” – to the present time, the Rotary Foundation has grown and partnered with other organizations such as the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation.
